Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  talks to the student body at South Side High, now known as Malcolm X. Shabazz High School. Donald Payne Sr. (D-10th Dist) is pictured in the front row on the lower left. This visit was organized by Winthrop McGriff, 17 year old senior class president, who received King’s direct phone number from his grandfather.
